Laid off and unable to find a job
Bobbie Racette could have built a virtual assistance agency like all the other VA services out there. Instead she created a unique tech platform that matches highly talented, yet underrepresented contract workers to the businesses needing their help. The result? The right VA working with the right business more of the time.
On Women Who Build Empires, Bobby shares her story and the lessons in leadership she has mastered including overcoming imposter syndrome and how to get over continuous rejection.
Bobbie Racette is the Founder & CEO of Virtual Gurus, a tech platform that creates work-from-home opportunities for underrepresented people while at the same time, providing fractional back-office support to businesses. She’s been recognized as one of 50 Changemakers for 2021 by Report on Business magazine and Startup Canada’s Indigenous Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2021, Bobbie became the first Indigenous female to secure a Series A fund round of $8.4 million.
